Why hello there
IJ wished me happy birthday!! How kind of them seeing as no one else has bothered. Hmph. In a spirit of sharing they asked me to post my birthday memories so here you are whether interested or not.

My 21st was a non-event. It fell on a Sunday in the 70s when nowhere was open and all my friends were in Wales while I was in a posh hotel in Tynemouth. Nothing happened, didn't get drunk, washout.

The next notable birthday was turning 40. I had just had brain surgery in November so was fit for nothing. Fortunately, a friend came and drove me to another friend's house where I drank Amaretto and chatted for a couple of hours. I hope you are seeing a pattern.

On to 50 which was my best birthday to date. Loads of friends went to a local pub for a fab meal and cake. I got really good presents like a bottle of Bob Stokoe beer that I still have and a copy of a newspaper of the day I was born. It was great.

The birthday after that was cancelled due to snow.

This year I am having a party at a friends house with party games, disguises and silliness. I'm really looking forward to it.
